BLACHFORD, Daniel Frank – Passed peacefully in his 105^th year.  Dear husband to Marion for 67 years.  Loving father to Brian (Lana), Linda and Carol.  Cherished Grandad to Leslie, Michael (Chole) and Christopher (Ali).  He was “Uncle Dan” to relatives of many generations during regular visits to our family cottage on Mazengah Island well into his 90’s.  Predeceased by his sister Jane.

After graduating UTS (Class of 1937) and University of Toronto (Bachelor of Music 1950), he became a dedicated teacher with the North York and Etobicoke Boards of Education.  His life long love of music saw membership with the Royal Regiment of Canada Band and the Encore Symphonic Concert Band.  WWII Veteran.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, LGSW, who provided excellent and compassionate care for almost 3 years.

In accordance with Dan’s wishes, there will be a private family service.  Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 11, 2023 between 1:00pm and 3:00pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, North York.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
