Biography:
Cassandra Nielsen is a clarinetist from Long Island, New York currently residing in Toronto. She obtained her bachelor of music at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, and recently graduated from the Glenn Gould School where she received her Artist Diploma. Her primary teachers include Daniel Gilbert, Chad Burrow, and Joaquin Valdepeñas.
Cassandra has been a member of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, the National Academy Orchestra of Canada, the University of Michigan Symphony Band, the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra, and The Contemporary Directions Ensemble. An avid teacher as well as performer, Cassandra teaches privately and served as a mentor for the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra.
