Kamil bio

An honours graduate of Toronto’s renowned Humber College Jazz Program, Kamil André studied vocal jazz, performance, arranging & composition, and music business. Singing in the styles of jazz, pop, R&B, Motown, funk, blues, musical theatre, classical, latin, calypso and gospel. Kamil André’s versatility has brought him many performance opportunities. He has graced the stages of many clubs across Canada, appeared in many street festivals, and performed at countless weddings and corporate events.
As a front man, he has sung lead, composed and arranged for the Evolution of Jazz Ensemble, lead by the late toronto jazz legend Archie Alleyne, as well as the soul/funk quintet Methodology. Kamil has also sung back up for several recording artists, including seasoned performers such as Jarvis Church of the Philosopher Kings and Lala Brooks of the Crystals. He has had the honour of performing as part of the opening acts for well known artists such as Jully Black and The Pointer Sisters. Kamil continues to freelance, singing lead and backup, as well as session and jingle work.
