Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Zach Smith is an active performer with an expansive
musical palate. He is a founding member & leader of Big Smoke Brass, and works extensively in
Toronto’s brass band scene playing trombone, tuba and more.

An expressive player with a robust & flexible sound, Zach is at home in numerous musical
settings, with experience performing across Canada and internationally. His live performance &
recording credits include Ms. Lauryn Hill, Measha Brueggergosman, Ananya Birla, Nizo Alimov,
The Heavyweights Brass Band, KC Roberts & The Live Revolution, The Brian Barlow Big Band,
and many more.

Alongside performing, Zach is a seasoned composer/arranger, educator, and booking manager.
