Biography:

Costa Rican percussionist Randall Chaves Camacho is a dynamic force in classical music. Collaborating with esteemed conductors like Alsop and Slatkin, he showcased his versatility and finesse with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, contributing to Naxos Classical Music recordings. Randall also played a pivotal role in recording Elizabeth Ogonek’s The Water Cantos under Oberlin Music. In 2019, he was the guest artist for the Oberlin Percussion Summer Institute, sharing his expertise. International collaborations include a performance for the Royal Ontario Museum in collaboration with the Costa Rican Consulate in Toronto, highlighting the cultural intersection of his homeland and North American experience. In 2021, Randall participated in the premiere of Russell Harterberger’s Eagles, showcasing his commitment with expanding the percussion repertoire. Currently a DMA candidate at the University of Toronto, Randall is an alumnus of Oberlin Conservatory and the Peabody Institute.
