Suzi Wesson is an actor/singer/songwriter who cut her teeth on jazz. She’s also sung with Dixieland, Blues and Rock bands. Suzi toured extensively with Les Misérables, waltzing her way across a dozen or so cities, travelling as far afield as Honolulu and Anchorage. Trotting our her big band and blues chops, Suzi has fronted both the Uptown Swing Band and the Dark Angel Blues Band, and was featured at Jazz FM’s One-Stop Vocal Jazz Safari. Along with musical partner Doug Balfour, Suzi & Doug have played venues ranging from The Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill to the Lighthouse Blues Festival. They’ve been seen across the city at numerous venues, most recently at Hirut, but their musical association goes back far enough in time to include gigs at the late lamented Groaning Board and the Café on the Park. More recent concerts include the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands, the Kincardine Scottish Festival and the Golden Lake Fall Fiesta. An extremely versatile performer, Suzi has yet to sing Carmen or pitch for the Jays, but she remains optimistic.
