Biography:

Sarah is an award-winning musical director, multi-instrumentalist, singer, actor, dancer, and educator based out of Halifax. Sarah was the Associate Musical Director for Mirvish’s production of “Six the Musical”. She won a Merritt Award for Musical Direction for Chester Playhouse’s production of “Ruthless: The Stage Mother of All Musicals”, and a nomination for HEIST’s production of “New Waterford Boy” and Neptune Theatre’s “Alice in Pantoland”. She also received a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Lucille Renaud in Neptune Theatre and b current’s co-production of “Controlled Damage”. Sarah is a founding member of Whale Song Theatre. She was a member of the inaugural year of Neptune Theatre’s “Chrysalis Project”, assistant musical directing on “Shakespeare in Love” and the Canadian Regional Premiere of “The Color Purple”. Since then, Sarah has worked for Neptune Theatre as Musical Director for “Elf: the Musical”, assistant Musical Director for “Peter Pan”, Musical Director and Arranger for “Rumour Has It: the Songbook of Adele” and “Alice in Pantoland”, as well as the vocal coach and pianist on “Calendar Girls”. She is also an educator within Neptune, musically directing YPCo’s productions of “Les Misérables: School Edition” and the Canadian premiere of “My Side of the Country”. With Whale Song Theatre, she has musically directed “Heathers: the Musical”, “Peter and the Starcatcher”, “9 to 5: the Musical”, “Assassins”, and “Company”. Sarah is also a part of the powerhouse vocal trio, DivaStation, and the lead singer of the Blackrats.  Past credits include Neptune Theatre, Whale Song Theatre, Chester Playhouse, HEIST, Liverpool International Theatre Festival, DramaFest, Dartmouth Players, and HFDT.
