Peter Cavanagh is a jazz saxophonist in the Greater Toronto Area. He is a graduate of the York University music program. At York, he studied with Canadian icons such as Kelly Jefferson, Barry Elmes, and Lorne Lofsky. He has completed University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. He has received awards for jazz improvisation including the Douglas Menzie Phillips Jazz Scholarship, and an award at an international competition in New York City.


Peter is also a past member of the “Toronto-All Star Big Band”. Traveling with the band, he has played at venues such as The Palais Royale and Casa Loma and has had the opportunity to play with jazz icons such as Benny Golson, Doc Severinsen, Cleo Laine, and John Dankworth.

He is also the leader and founder of The Sidewalk Crusaders, an interactive 7 piece horn band which performs pop music. Through this band, Peter and his bandmates have played many private events, such as weddings, corporate parties, and birthday parties. The band has also played at the Dubai Shopping Festival, Canada Day at Queen’s Park, Friday Night Live at the ROM, and for the Cirque Du Soleil event, “Kurios”.
