Katrina Dunkle, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, is a freelance horn player who has recently relocated to Toronto, Ontario. She is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory, studying under Gabriel Radford, and is a recipient of the The J.P. Bickell Foundation Scholarship. She is a member of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra and New Music Ensemble, and is part of a woodwind quintet.

Katrina completed her Bachelor of Horn Performance at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montréal, Québec, where she was awarded the David D. Cohen Brass Scholarship in 2021. At McGill, she studied with Nadia Côté and Catherine Turner. In 2020, Katrina was a winner of McGill University Schulich School of Music’s Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion Concerto Competition, and performed with the McGill Symphony Orchestra in February 2021. She was also a member of the McGill Symphony Orchestra and Contemporary Music Ensemble, and was an avid chamber musician in woodwind, brass, and mixed winds/strings ensembles.

In summer 2022, Katrina attended the Sarasota Music Festival in Sarasota, Florida, and the Orchestre de la francophonie in Montréal, Québec. She spent the summers of 2020 and 2021 as part of the esteemed National Youth Orchestra of Canada. In the summer of 2019, she attended Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina, and was a recipient of a EMF Young Artist Merit Award and McGill Enriched Educational Opportunity Award.
