David Wall is a Toronto-based composer, singer and dedicated opera buff. He has written scores for a long list of film, television and experimental projects, working with collaborators such as Bruce Mau Design, Naomi Klein and Alan Zweig. His career as a singer has included fronting bands with funny names, like The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir, The Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band and Art of Time Ensemble. He has written a large catalogue of songs in many genres, including The Scene, which reached #1 on the Canadian pop charts for rock band Big Sugar. Recent projects include a feature-length experimental operatic film score for Director John Greyson (Photobooth, 2022); sound and music for a large-scale video installation at the Art Gallery of Ontario (Panorama, 2022); and the score for a 2-part documentary on the comedy troupe Kids in the Hall (Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks, Amazon Prime, 2022).
David lives in Toronto with his wife, Kyo Maclear and two boys, Yoshi and Mika.
