Hailing from Washington State, American harpist Benjamin Albertson has developed a burgeoning career as a soloist, orchestral colleague, and competition laureate. Having appeared at Belgium’s Musica Mundi Festival, the Brevard Music Festival, and with the Orchestra of the Americas, Albertson is a recent winner of the Corcoran Concerto Competition (Royal Conservatory of Music – Toronto), where he is pursuing an Artist Diploma with Judy Loman and Heidi Bearcroft. Following solo invitations with the Eleva Chamber Players and the Olympia Symphony, Albertson has embarked a versatile career with experience in the USA International Harp Competition, the American Harp Society, and a debut broadcast on NYC’s WQXR. The provenance of Albertson’s unique instrument can be traced to the legendary Carlos Salzedo – his original Salzedo model harp. Albertson can be found on the web at www.benalbertsonharp.com.
