Herman E. Curry Jr. (Composer-Bassist) In order to fulfill the dream of composing and songwriting he embarked on a journey to become a musician during his years at Wayne State University studying theory before playing an instrument. A continuation of this love for music, playing with some of the top musicians in the Detroit area and those experiences eventually led to a 3 year association with the Michael Henderson Band Solid as the Bass player that brought the experiences of a lifetime.

They toured, headlined and opened for Luther Vandross, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Ashford and Simpson, The Spinners, the Jackson Five and Patti Labelle along with Phyllis Hyman and other Music greats during that period.

He continued touring with variations of the Solid group for another year eventually switching from playing Bass to mixing sound on tour and running the light show. The highlight of the time spent with the Solid band was being introduced by Eli Fontaine to the Legendary Motown bassist James Jamerson at a LA Troubadour show and receiving warm compliments about his bass playing.
