Jon Catanus is an artist who is known as a skilled and multi-faceted musician and educator. Jon does session work for many local groups of varying genres, such as the established RnB vocalist Erez Zobary, the Jazz/RnB eight-piece, BADOISM and the instrumental rock band, Silus. He is also the band leader of his own trio, “JC3” featuring his own compositions and arrangements. He’s performed in many different venues, some of which being The Rex, Danforth Music Hall, The Silver Dollar, Mrs. Robinson, Poetry Jazz Cafe, and various other Toronto landmark venues. One venue of note would be the Drake Underground, which he booked in 2019 to host his “Music Of Nujabes” concert series, with over 300 people in attendance. Already a studied classical pianist, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, Jon brings a rare musicality to his drumming, inspired by the likes of Jeff Hamilton, Corey Fonville, and Nate Smith.
