Biography:
Winner of the Canada Council for the Arts’ 2021 Michael Measures 1st Prize, David Liam Roberts is recognized as one of Canada’s top young musicians. Originally from Winnipeg, the 23-year-old Métis cellist recently appeared as soloist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Daniel Raiskin. Highlights of the 2022/23 season include a 3-week tour of the Maritimes as a Debut Atlantic touring artist. David Liam often performs as an extra with the Winnipeg and Toronto Symphony Orchestras. He currently studies with Hans Jørgen Jensen, Joseph Johnson and Andrés Díaz at the Glenn Gould School of the RCM in Toronto.
