Vas Palantzas is a performer, band director and educator who has been operating in the GTA and York Region for 16 years with an MA in musicology from York University. He began conducting at the age of 15 and has taught privately and conducted various groups since, including his role as the assistant conductor of the Aurora Concert Band and the Band Officer, in charge of the marching band program at Royal Canadian Air Cadets 8 Globemaster Squadron. He is a successful bass trombonist, having studied under Ron Westray, and the bass player for the Toronto based neo-psychadelic band Halo Vair. He is the leader of the Vas Palantzas Quintet and is the bass trombonist under renowned conductor Dr. Andrew Rozbicki and the Celebrity Symphony Orchestra.

He currently teaches IB Music at Delano Academy and continues his work with the 8 Globemaster marching band program.
