Curtis Freeman is a 2021 Mississauga Music Awards nominee for Musician of the year and is an ‘in demand’ bass player, studio bassist and music educator.
Curtis has travelled and performed in over forty countries worldwide, working with several talented Pop, Rock, Country, World Music, Gospel, and Jazz groups.
Curtis has performed with several award winning musicians including Canadian rockers Kim Mitchell, Rik Emmett (Triumph), Colin James, Treble Charger, Aboriginal Artist Susan Aglukark, 80’s rap icon (and Grammy nominee) Tone Lōc, singer-songwriters Amy Sky and Marc Jordan as well as Grammy winners Paul Brown (Luther Vandross), Liberty Silver, and Canadian singer/songwriter Dan Hill.
In 2017, Curtis was hired as bassist for nine-time Grammy nominee, Hollywood ‘walk of fame’ recipient and smooth jazz saxophone sensation Dave Koz.
Curtis was featured in two PBS Specials backing Canadian Guitar master Pavlo: ‘Live from Kastoria’ (Greece) and ‘Pavlo Live from Guadalajara’ (Mexico).
Both TV Specials are currently being broadcast across American television on almost 100 PBS stations. Another incredible concert, ‘Live From Santorini’ is scheduled for Summer of 2020.
Curtis toured with Pavlo across Canada opening for José Feliciano and The Tenors, playing large sold-out venues including the Air Canada Centre.
Curtis is a music educator at Centennial College in the heart of Toronto’s busy music scene.
Curtis is a music theory instructor at Metal Works Institute in Mississauga Ontario. Regarded as Canada’s best recording studios, countless hit songs and albums have been recorded at Metal Works, boasting artists such as Drake, Prince, and David Bowie.
Curtis also teaches privately from his home in Mississauga Ontario and provides Skype Lessons to students worldwide.
Curtis is a respected studio musician and has recorded on several independent and hit albums, too many to list.
Curtis volunteers and performs as bassist and often musical director at the Meeting House church in Oakville Ontario.
