Yelin Youn is a flutist pursuing an Artist Diploma Certificate at the Glenn Gould School studying under Nora Shulman. As an orchestral musician, Yelin currently occupies a substitute position with the New World Symphony, and has performed in venues across Canada as a fellow of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. In 2024, she was selected as the recipient of the NYOC Payne-Lyon Prize for Excellence in Flute. Most recently, Yelin made her solo debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, performing the Ibert Flute Concerto. She has worked with notable flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Lorna McGhee, and Denis Bluteau, among others. Yelin completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, where she studied under Kelly Zimba and Stephen Tam.
