Jennie S. Baccante, a Grammy Award winning San Diego native, earned her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from The Juilliard School in New York under the tutelage of Dorothy DeLay and Masao Kawasaki, and her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Southern California with Robert C. Lipsett.

Jennie is currently a member of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra in Toronto, the Santa Fe Opera and the Santa Fe Symphony. Jennie also held positions with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the New Haven Symphony and has played with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, San Diego Symphony and the Toronto Symphony among others.

An avid orchestral, solo and chamber musician, Jennie has performed with the Tanglewood Music Center and Boston Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival, Verbier Festival (Switzerland), La Jolla Chamber Music Society, National Repertory Orchestra and the New York String Orchestra Seminar. Jennie has had the privilege to work under such renowned conductors as Alan Gilbert, Jaime Laredo, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta, Seiji Ozawa, Leonard Slatkin and Pinchas Zukerman.

When not performing, Jennie enjoys spending time in the kitchen, pilates, knitting and golfing. She and her cellist husband, Maurizio Baccante, perform regularly in Toronto and Santa Fe, and live with their teenaged daughter and their family dog, Pepe.
