Andy Ballantyne is a professional woodwind performer, composer, arranger and educator. He is widely regarded as one of Canada’s most versatile musicians. In addition to appearing with a who’s who of Canadian and international jazz artists, Andy has performed with the Toronto Symphony and worked extensively in musical theatre, including 12 seasons at the Shaw festival. As a composer and arranger Andy’s works are frequently performed by many of Canada’s leading school and professional ensembles. He has performed on two Juno award-winning jazz recordings, and on the soundtrack for the hugely succesful video game “Cuphead”. His most recent recording, “Play On Words”, is a tribute to the great jazz saxophonists of the twentieth century and is available on GB Records and all streaming services.
